    Indian fishing rights under debate | With Video

    The Pamunkey and Mattaponi Indian tribes have been fishing their namesake rivers for centuries.
    A treaty signed in 1677 between the Commonwealth and Virginia’s Indians established tribal fishing rights, among other rights, and many aspects of the treaty are still followed, including the annual tax tribute to the Governor.
