To Finance a Community Farming Project, Michigan Tribe Taps Indian Land Capital Company

The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians has secured a $749,000 loan from Indian Land Capital Company (ILCC) to expand its tribal lands, pursue agricultural projects, and promote the health and welfare of the tribe. ILCC, based in Montana, is a Native American-owned and -managed Native Community Development Financial Institution (NCDFI). The company has facilitated over $7 million in loans to tribes in six states that helped to return some 30,000 acres of land to tribal control.
